The Academy youngster and Paterna-born player has recently extended his ties with the VCF Academy and has been called up to participate in the training sessions for Spain under 17

VCF Cadete A forward, Hugo de Mateo has been called up by Spain under 17 for a series of training sessions with Spain under 17 which will take place in Marbella from May 31st to June 5th as the RFEF announced on Tuesday.

Likewise, the VCF Academy reached an agreement over a contract extension with the Paterna-born player. Hugo dev Mateo joined the VCF Academy at Querubín level and nowadays he is a main attacking reference for Cadete A who secured the top spot in their group in the Liga Autonómica, Hugo has 15 goals to his tally to show for it.

Hugo de Mateo joins the list of Academy players to have received recent Spain youth rank call-ups like Vicent Abril, Dani Sánchez or Yarek Gasiorowski.
